Aurelia Hummelbrunner
Aurelia is an investor by training and an operator by instinct. Over the past decade, she has supported founders and owners across VC, PE and strategy – always drawn to the real economy and the people behind it.
Aurelia’s roots
Aurelia grew up in a family business in Austria – often in the workshop. Early on, she experienced both the pride of craftsmanship and the pressure of running a business, shaping her view on ownership and long-term success.
Aurelia’s journey
Aurelia started her career in early-stage environments – first at Rocket Internet, where she was unexpectedly tasked with leading online marketing for a new venture, and later by co-founding a beverage brand with friends – an early lesson in ownership and execution.
She then joined the Boston Consulting Group, where she developed strategic and analytical rigor, before transitioning to the investment side. She began in early-stage venture and later joined Apax Partners, a global private equity firm. Based in London and New York, she focused on software and business services investments. At Apax, she stepped into portfolio companies as an outsourced M&A, finance, and talent function – gaining deep operational exposure alongside deal and board experience.
More recently, Aurelia has supported a number of founder-led and family-run companies through transitions – both as an advisor and operator. That includes her own family business, where she stepped in to navigate key succession questions.
Aurelia graduated with distinction from Imperial College London, earning a master’s degree in Economics & Strategy. She also holds a BSc in International Business from Vienna University of Economics and Business
